Sorry Hazri, this article is more than 2 years old. I haven’t been running it for over a year as I’m not working for that company any longer. Looks like the perl dependencies in the port are out of date?

Hi,
You have inspired me to use ASSP in FreeBSD. Since you’ve get ASSP run on FreeBSD can you share the tutorial? Coz now im trying to install it on FreeBSD 7.1, but no luck. I got message like:

“p5-Mail-SPF-Query-1.999.1 conflicts with installed package(s):
p5-Mail-SPF-2.006

They install files into the same place.
Please remove them first with pkg_delete(1).
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/mail/p5-Mail-SPF-Query.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/mail/assp.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/mail/assp.”

None of the interesting features (especially activesync/mobile exchange support) are included in the free edition, and the commercial edition is *very* expensive. Also doesn’t run on Windows, so switching cost from Exchange is much higher because of time/effort/additional server hardware (no, virtualisation is not an acceptable solution)

Am currently using DeskNow, but pre-AJAX web interface and lack of support for caldav, activesync and terrible IMAP performance is pissing me off.
