A detailed Howto has been posted on Howto Forge which describes how to setup BackupPC on Debian Etch. Looking over the tutorial, it looks like it should apply to Ubuntu with little to no modification. Lots of pictures and detail should help you get your home or small office backup solution up and running in no time.
The Problem
Schools in Calgary have tight technology budgets. Back when the typical school had 20 computers, it wasn’t such a big deal to keep Windows 2000 running and virus free. But what happens when you have 200+ aging Windows 2000 machines? Clearly, the school can’t keep up on the technology treadmill. If they want more (or newer) PCs then they go to Computers For Schools and ask for more.
